# Costs

What your own Scaleway and bunny.net accounts were charged over a month, per application, environment, resource and product group.

You pay Scaleway and bunny.net yourself: they bill your own accounts, and Brewless is never in between. The **Costs** page reads those bills back, so you can see in one place what your applications cost at both providers.

These are the providers' own figures, not an estimate from their list prices. The [Database costs](/running/database-costs) page is the one place that estimates; everything here is what was charged.

## A month at a time

Both providers bill per calendar month, so the page shows one month. The running month is what has been counted so far, and Scaleway keeps the eleven months before it.

Neither provider counts in real time. The page says when it last read them, and the figures of the running month still move afterwards. Brewless keeps a read for a quarter of an hour, so opening the page again does not ask your providers each time.

## What the splits mean

The amounts are in the currency your provider bills you in, before tax. Every split adds up to the same total:

| Split | What you see |
| --- | --- |
| Application | Per application, through the Scaleway project it runs in and the resources that belong to it |
| Environment | Per environment: production, staging and development side by side |
| Kind of resource | Per kind: containers, databases, buckets, pull zones, DNS zones |
| Product group | The groups your provider itself puts on the bill |

The same figures stand on an application's own page, for that application alone.

### Elsewhere in the account

A charge Brewless cannot trace to one of your applications is shown as **elsewhere in the account** instead of being left out, so the page adds up to your invoice. That is anything in a Scaleway project Brewless does not manage, a resource that has since been removed, and what a provider charges the account as a whole rather than one thing in it.

## What each provider tells us

**Scaleway** gives a line per resource per month, with the project it stood in. Because every application gets a Scaleway project of its own, those lines land on the right application; see [Connecting providers](/applications/providers).

The key needs one extra right for this: the permission set `BillingReadOnly`, under **Organization management** in the policy of the key, on the whole organisation. Without it the page says so and shows nothing of Scaleway; everything else Brewless does works as before. A key that reaches one project only cannot read billing at all, because Scaleway keeps it per organisation.

**bunny.net** bills the account, not the zone. It tells us what it charged this month, split into its own product groups, and per pull zone how much of that the zone used. What is left over is elsewhere in the account. For an earlier month bunny.net has only its invoices, so the page says so and shows Scaleway alone.

> [!NOTE]
> Your Brewless subscription is not on this page. That invoice is ours, and it is on the [Billing](/organisation/billing) page.
